Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks
• Pass a drug test
• Valid driver’s license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points) if driving is required
• Division mandated training
• CPR & First Aid Certified

Qualifications

• Experience with developmentally & intellectually disabled individuals (preferred but not required)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
• Energetic, outgoing and creative
• Dedicated and reliable
• Ethical and moral values
• Professionalism

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist individuals with meal planning, personal-care, daily living activities and life skills
• Support individuals with recreational, social and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans
• Transporting individuals to programs, events, activities, employment and appointments
• Administer or assist with prescribed medication(s) and complete appropriate documentation.
• Electronically document the supports given and activities completed daily
• Utilizes Person Centered Plans to assess individual needs and assist with achieving ISP goals
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of the participant
