Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks
- Pass a drug test
- Valid driver’s license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points) if driving is required
- Division mandated training
- CPR & First Aid Certified
Qualifications
- Experience with developmentally & intellectually disabled individuals (preferred but not required)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Compassionate about the care and well-being of others
- Energetic, outgoing and creative
- Dedicated and reliable
- Ethical and moral values
- Professionalism
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist individuals with meal planning, personal-care, daily living activities and life skills
- Support individuals with recreational, social and community activities based on their preferences and individual plans
- Transporting individuals to programs, events, activities, employment and appointments
- Administer or assist with prescribed medication(s) and complete appropriate documentation.
- Electronically document the supports given and activities completed daily
- Utilizes Person Centered Plans to assess individual needs and assist with achieving ISP goals
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of the participant
